Restore Coyote Creek

a Project of the Friends of Coyote Creek Watershed

Creek Scouts

Creek Scouts are the eyes and ears of the creek, who keep a lookout for trash and homeless encampments and report sightings to the proper authorities.

Walking a section of the creek, periodically observe the creekside. If you observe trash or homeless encampments, take a photo if possible and note the location. Record what you observe using the Creek Monitoring Form.

  • Use the San Jose Clean app on your mobile phone to report the problem

  • Report trash to the San Jose Anti-Litter/Anti-Graffiti program hotline number at 1-866-249-0543 or send an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

  • Report homeless encampments on the Homeless Helpline at 408-510-7600 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Please let Restore Coyote Creek know what section of the creek you have adopted so we can keep abreast as well.

This activity may take about one hour, one to four times a month.
